8 ways to use anger to your advantage

Did you know that anger can be used to your advantage?

As a rule, we see anger as a negative emotion. Sometimes we try to suppress it. However, in order to remain a healthy and happy person, it is important not to hide it, but to use it to your advantage.

I will tell you how to do this:

     1. Have a brainstorming session. We often start thinking outside the box when we get angry about something and experience strong emotions.  Brainstorming can be especially effective in moments of anger

     2. Try to get to know yourself better. Become aware of what it is that provokes feelings of anger in you. This can be an important step toward self-improvement, because by identifying the problem, it will be much easier for you to deal with it.

     3. Record your thoughts and feelings on paper. Make a list of your own triggers and begin to deal with them.  The exercise will be especially useful for those who are often angry at themselves.

     4. Add determination. However, in order for a decision to be beneficial, rather than aggravating the situation, it must be balanced. So before you decide to take any action, give yourself some time to think about the possible consequences of it.

     5. Get rid of garbage and unnecessary things. Do a general cleaning. If you don't have the energy to tidy up, just start tearing up paper.

     6. Laugh at yourself. Sometimes anger is the result of an overinflated sense of self-importance. In this case, to use the unpleasant feeling for good, you need to laugh at yourself.

     7. Take up a sport. Go for a run or do some simple exercises. This way you will not only reduce the intensity of negative emotions, but also improve your physical shape.

     8. Fight back. Another gift of anger is the chance to strenuously defend your boundaries and interests. Along with anger, we also get a chance to confront the aggressor, fight back, and demand that we be treated with respect.

In addition, when we are angry, we have the strength to voice our problems, to go beyond our constraints and to present our interests on an equal basis with those of others. So look for the pluses everywhere and use anger for good.
